Hi, I’m Hanna.

I’m here to make sure you feel heard, seen, and understood so you can heal.

People often connect with me when they feel frustrated, stuck in unhelpful cycles of behaviour, and uncertain about how to cope. This can be an incredibly stressful and lonely state to be in.

Therapy helps with:

  • determining options and making sustainable changes

  • building awareness/mindfulness so you can shift from reacting to responding

  • developing coping strategies that work long-term

  • creating wholeness and healing within

I strongly believe in the healing capacity of the therapeutic relationship.

With presence, compassion, openness, and warmth I hold space for you to be present with your emotional experiences, thoughts, memories, and beliefs. All parts of you are welcome here.

  • Intuitive Eating Counselling

    Disordered Eating Recovery

    Helping you heal your relationship with food, your body, and exercise. Health at Every Size (HAES) aligned, trauma-informed, and strengths-based.

    Rooted in Intuitive Eating, a framework that promotes food freedom, joyful movement, and positive body image.

  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma

    EMDR

    This is an effective trauma therapy that doesn't require you to re-tell your story of trauma repeatedly. Dual attention and bilateral stimulation uniquely process traumatic memories in EMDR for lasting improvement.

    Clients notice significantly less distress when recalling events.

  • Exposure for OCD

    Exposure Therapy

    I will meet you where you are in your healing journey, and go at your pace as you set goals and gradually face your fears. Through gradual exposure, you will feel increased confidence and reduced anxiety.

    ERP with CBT/ACT, is an effective treatment for OCD, panic attacks, phobias, and generalized anxiety.

  • Strong overwhelming emotions

    Dialectical Behavior Therapy

    Therapy that helps balance strong feelings through mindfulness and other evidence-based skills. DBT is especially helpful for those with trouble controlling impulsive behaviour, maintaining healthy relationships, tolerating distressing emotions, and managing crises.

Anxiety

Treating panic attacks, social anxiety, worries/fears, and phobias. You will be supported to explore your fears and insecurities and learn to respond to them with mindfulness and other effective coping skills.
Anxious in relationships? Shift relational patterns to feel more secure and attuned with those you care about.

Disordered Eating

Develop a healthy and sustainable relationship with food, body, and exercise. Supporting clients to experience body acceptance, intuitive eating, and joyful movement. Shifting away from restrictive eating, body dissatisfaction, and compensatory exercise.
Evidence-based interventions for youth and adults with disordered eating and EDs. Binge Eating, Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa, OSFED, and ARFID. Learn more about recovery here.

Obsessive-Compulsive

Experience relief from demanding intrusive thoughts and frustrating compulsive behaviours.
Learn strategies from Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and cognitive-behavioral therapies to tolerate uncertainty, cope with obsessions, and reduce compulsive behaviours.

Trauma/PTSD

Release trauma through EMDR therapy.
EMDR helps you to process distressing memories and feelings from the past while staying grounded in the present.

Experiencing strong emotions doesn’t have to be a problem. Learn to cope with intense emotions and gain skills in distress tolerance, urge surfing, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Conflict and Disconnection

Emotionally focused family therapy (EFFT) helps families find new ways of connecting and communicating. Maintaining secure attachments through validation, effective coregulation, and collaborative behaviour change.

The Gottman method is an effective and evidence-based therapy for couples.

In-person office, online virtual (video/phone), and walk-and-talk counselling sessions are available.

Walk and talk sessions provide the opportunity to connect in and with nature in calming locations.

  • Walks typically take place at the Cedar Hill Golf Course or throughout Oak Bay.

Variety of opportunities to connect including in office, online across BC, and in nature.
